Victorian Long Christening Gown With Fancy Pintucks And Embroidery
This lovely fine snow white cotton heirloom christening gown dates from the early 1900's, a
nd is in a classic Victorian style.
This full length gown is open at back with two shell button closures.
This lovely gown has a center panel with beautifully embellished skillfully made pintucks and machine embroidery whitework.
This gown is made of a excellent quality cotton and has been beautifully sewn both by hand and by machine with the tiniest possible stitching. The embroidery as well is of fine quality in 'Broderie Anglaise' style.
The center panel has three tiers of embroidered ruffles starting at the bodice and flowing down to ruffle at hem line, making this gown very sweet.
The condition of this piece is very good to excellent with no damage, no stains, no repairs,  and the material is sturdy, and wearable and has been recently laundered and pressed.

Victorian, circa 1900's.
MEASUREMENTS
Gown Chest = 21" (under bodice/arms) .
Sleeve= 7" (shoulder to cuff)
and sleeve opening is 3".
Length= 42" (shoulder to hem) .
Circumference of the bottom of the gown is 69-1/2".
Neck opening is 11" in circumference.
This early Christening gown would be an impressive addition to any collection or a family heirloom for generations to come.
